Leddy

Leddy Cornejo Menéndez works at marketing and communications at Cultural Tacna, Perú. She graciously took Camilo and me on a tour of her city, which is located right on the border of Chile. We went to a museum located inside a train station as well as the main city plaza, and Leddy told stories of Tacna's history, especially its complicated relationship with its border neighbor, Chile. There are beautifully maintained gardens in the city square that they are very proud of. Tacna is a desert, and these small glimpses of colorful beauty are challenging to maintain. By the way, in these photos you'll see how a Seattlelite with a fair complexion dresses for the South American desert in the middle of their summer. Add 50+ sunblock and I'm ready to roll! :)
